"Pencils Down" and "Flawed" Book Talk

As the school year winds down, join local authors Michael Beyer and Greg Chasson, PhD, ABPP for a happy hour and discussion on their books.

"Pencils Down," by Michael Beyer and Nallely Suarez Gass, explores why teachers are leaving the field, how to better support them, and how to fix our education system and make it a more desirable profession once again. This timely book examines not only the challenges teachers face in our current educational crises, but also the journey and decisions behind their decisions to pursue other career paths.

"Flawed," by Greg Chasson, PhD, ABPP, debunks the conception that perfectionism is an asset to employees or workplaces. Thoroughly researched and based in the author's work in psychology and cognitive-behavioral therapy, this book offers better insight into the pitfalls of perfectionism and better ways to create successful teams, become more effective leaders, and improve professional and personal work and habits.
